Scoliosis

Dr Lee treats patients with scoliosis.

Scoliosis is the sideways curvature of the spine. Occasionally an underlying nerve, muscle condition or bony abnormality may be the cause of the scoliosis. However, in most cases, no cause can be found (idiopathic). There may be a genetic predisposition for idiopathic scoliosis.

Dr Lee focuses on obtaining an accurate diagnosis before implementing treatment.

Treatment for scoliosis is dependent on the severity of the curve and age of the patient. Most patients just need close observation of their scoliosis. Dr Lee may suggest non-operative treatment for your condition. If non-operative treatment fails, then surgery may be recommended.

Dr Lee will discuss these treatment options with you during your consultation.

Dr Lee has extensive experience performing spinal fusion for spinal deformity correction and experience using the latest minimally invasive spinal surgery techniques. In addition, Dr Lee is also proficient with intraoperative navigation for spine surgery.
